'Afflicted' Subjects Settle Defamation Lawsuit with Netflix, Docuseries Producers  

Netflix and Doc Shop Productions, the production company responsible for the docuseries Afflicted, settled a lawsuit with subjects interviewed in the series who say it “misrepresented their chronic illnesses.” So reports The Hollywood Reporter.

NetflixThe series, which looks at often-unexplainable illnesses such as mold toxicity and wifi sensitivity, was accused of portraying the subjects as “lazy, crazy, hypochondriacs,” much to the dismay of those interviewed. Additionally, waivers signed by the subjects indicating their portrayal may be unfavorable were voided due to the nature they were obtained.
