PlayStation User Sues Sony Third-party Downloads

A Sony PlayStation user is suing the company after arguing it has an “illegal monopoly” on games purchased digitally via its online platform. So reports Polygon.

Playstation video game console 2202613 640 1The suit was filed in California and alleges that a 2019 decision from Sony to disallow users from purchasing “third-party download codes” violates antitrust law. “Lawyers claim that popular games sell for, on average, 75% more digitally on the PlayStation Store than those sold physically. That number could be up to 175% more at its highest,” according to the article.
