Kansas Child Welfare System Getting Overhaul After Settlement Agreement

U.S. District Judge Daniel Crabtree approved a settlement agreement in Kansas aimed at fixing the state’s child welfare system. So reports the Associated Press.

gavel 3577254 1920The settlement pertains to thousands of children in the state’s foster care system with respect to “extreme housing disruption and inadequate mental healthcare.” The settlement effectively ends litigation in the matter, but Crabtree will have jurisdiction over enforcing its provisions.
