McDonald’s Asks Illinois Court to Toss Discrimination Lawsuit

McDonald’s is seeking to have a racial discrimination suit dismissed. The suit is filed by 52 Black former franchisees who say they have lost millions due to the fast-food giant’s actions. So reports CNBC.

mcdonald 998495 640smallMcDonalds said the complaint relies on “vague and conclusory allegations,” does not show intentional discrimination and that the statute of limitations for such a claim has run out. The former franchisees said McDonald's “denied them the same opportunities as White operators and steered Black franchisees to low-income neighborhoods, where they had higher security and insurance expenses and lower sales.”
