Utah Man, Senator Concerned with ISP Porn Filter Law

Salt Lake City resident Chris Sevier is challenging a Utah law that allows Internet service providers to charge for pornography filters. So reports the Associated Press.

One law professor posited the case may have merit if the courts find it unconstitutional to require someone to purchase something in order to protect their religious rights. Sevier has filed several suits recently, including one in Tennessee requesting Apple sell its products with a porn filter and another in Texas seeking the right to marry to his laptop, according to the article.

Sen. Todd Weiler said he plans to introduce a bill that would address concerns like those of Sevier that require providers add filters allowing residents to "opt-in" to view pornography.
