Gerber Accused of False Claims on Baby Formula

A complaint filed by the Federal Trade Commission contends that baby-food maker Gerber has misled consumers with a product the company claims can prevent or reduce allergies in children. So reports NBC News.

The FTC is asking Gerber to pull advertisements that claim its products can prevent or reduce atopic dermatitis, also known as baby eczema. Gerber officials claim the advertisements are accurate, though.

The possibility of a refund for those who purchased the product has not been ruled out as a possible outcome of the litigation.
