NY Appeals Court Drops AG James’ Amazon Lawsuit, Says Federal Law Takes Precedent  

The lawsuit filed by New York State Attorney General Letitia James accusing Amazon of “failing to reasonably protect workers against COVID-19” and allegedly retaliating against workers who spoke out against poor working conditions was dismissed. So reports Gothamist.

amazonThe case was dropped by an appellate court, and specifically pertained to a fulfillment center on Staten Island and a distribution center in Queens. The court said the matter falls under the purview of federal labor laws and the National Labor Relations Board is the appropriate entity to adjudicate the matter.
