Boston Discrimination Lawsuit Nets Nearly $1M for Fired Dean

Boston lost two major lawsuits within days of each other after separate juries found its school district “retailed against” Black men who brought discrimination complaints. So reports the Boston Herald.

Madison ParkThe most recent verdict was in favor of Jose Edwards, who alleged he was removed from his role as dean of the Madison Park Technical High School due to a discrimination complaint he made in 2015. Edwards was awarded back pay of $410,080 and $533,110 in “emotional distress” damages, although those figures could push higher considering compound interest on the wages and attorney’s fees.
