Chauvin, For Now, Representing Himself in George Floyd Murder Appeal  

Now-terminated Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin is appealing his murder conviction, at least for the time being, sans a lawyer. So reports Insider.

george floyd 5342710 640Chauvin was convicted in the high-profile case involving the death of George Floyd, and was sentenced to serve 22.5 years in prison. Chauvin does not have enough money to pay the requisite court fees and is asking a judge to put a stay on his appeal while he secures representation; he was denied a public defender and a request to waive the needed filing fees. Legal experts have reported the ex-officer’s chances of a successful appeal are slim.
