Trump Takes to the Courts Over Big Tech Censorship

Ex-President Donald Trump is the lead representative in a class action lawsuit against Google, Twitter, and Facebook as well as their CEOs Sundar Pichai, Jack Dorsey and Mark Zuckerberg. So reports Axios.

trump 1822121 640 smallTrump has raised concerns about the tech companies’ censorship of him and other conservative politicians and is seeking injunctive relief that would restore his accounts on the social media sites. The ex-president is also seeking punitive damages for his suspension on the accounts.

The lawsuit claims that the tech companies amounted to state actors and therefore the first amendment applies to them. Several legal observers say the lawsuit appears to be a publicity and fundraising ploy as the lawsuit is unlikely to succed on the merits.
