UM Law Dean Out Much to Dismay Of Faculty, Who Adopted a Protest Resolution

The dean of the University of Miami School of Law, Anthony Varona, has been fired, effective on Thursday, July 1, although many at the school have questioned the decision. So reports The Miami Hurricane.

University Law SchoolUM President Julio Frenk cited fundraising as one of the chief reasons for the decision. However, “Hours after Frenk’s email, UM law’s tenured faculty adopted a resolution protesting Varona’s removal and demanding a meeting with Frenk, Provost Jeffrey Duerk and the board of trustees executive committee,” according to the article.
