DeSantis Takes to the Courts to Get Florida Cruise Ships Sailing

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said he will take legal action against the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the federal government with the aim of reopening the cruise industry. So reports an NBC affiliate KCRA 3.

ship 273622 640DeSantis said an indefinite shutdown of the industry is harmful to the state’s economy as cruisers will head to the Bahamas to book their sailings. The lawsuit comes in the wake of Royal Caribbean resuming operations in the Bahamas and the president of Carnival Cruise Line threatening to “pull all of its ships out of U.S. ports.”
