NRA Takes Aim at NJ Gun Permit Law

The National Rifle Association is suing to challenge a New Jersey law requiring the state’s residents show “justifiable need” in order to obtain a permit to carry a firearm in public. So reports Fox News.

guns 467710 640The NRA joined with the Coalition of New Jersey Firearm Owners, the Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs and individual residents to make an argument that the law restricts Second Amendment rights. "Justifiable need” extends beyond simple claims of personal safety and property protection. One must provide evidence of previous attacks or specific threats that cannot otherwise be avoided.
