South Dakota Pot Advocates Join Lawsuit Challenging Ballot Measure

South Dakotans for Better Marijuana Laws, the advocacy group that campaigned for medical and recreational marijuana in South Dakota, will join a lawsuit filed against the recently passed legalization. So reports the Rapid City Journal.

cannabis 1382955 1920The lawsuit challenged the constitutionality of the new law, which was passed by ballot referendum, and was filed by Pennington County Sheriff Kevin Thom and Superintendent of the South Dakota Highway Patrol Colonel Rick Miller. The third-party intervention by the advocates is allowed due to their stake in the outcome. As such, the group will be allowed to make arguments and file motions with respect to the case.
