Widow, Maryland Come to Terms Over Cremation Mishap

Maryland resident Carmen Keggins and the state have agreed to a settlement as she was given the wrong ashes in the wake of her husband’s posthumous donation to science. So reports an NBC Washington.

urn 38238 640Keggins’ husband gave his body to the state-run Maryland Anatomy Board in 2015 after losing a battle with ALS. The error was one of several related to the “poor tracking of bodies, erroneous record-keeping and a donor’s cremains being mistakenly buried in a state cemetery.” The terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
