New Jersey Instagram user Brittany Conditi filed the lawsuit after claiming the social media companies used her phone’s camera “to collect lucrative and valuable data… that it would not otherwise have access to,” according to the article. The lawsuit comes in the wake of reports an Instagram bug apparently allowed the company access to iPhone cameras even when the cameras were not being actively used.
