The necklace worn by the former first lady was designed by Jamaican-born Chari Cuthbert, but according to the article, a nearly identical one is being sold by the ecommerce jeweler and being marketed with a picture of Obama. There are also dozens of other handmade necklaces on marketplace website Etsy, with many featuring Obama’s photo wearing Cuthbert’s necklace. The site said it will remove listings “that infringe on intellectual property if it receives complaints.”
