Wigdor said the decision to withdraw as Reade's attorney is unrelated to the credibility of her claims that Joe Biden assaulted her in 1993. The decision, however, did come after defense attorneys in California began a review of her educational history and her past work as an expert witness for prosecutors under the name Alexandra McCabe.
Several defense attorneys are considering challenging a number of convictions in cases where Reade testified for prosecutors and may have lied under oath about her credentials. Reade said she graduated from Antioch University in Seattle, but the school claims she did not.
Wigdor, a 2016 donor to President Donald Trump’s campaign, had represented Reade pro bono.
