After police were called to TCF Bank in Michigan, Thomas, who is black, was questioned for approximately an hour before being accused of fraud. A bank representative said the three checks, which were for $59,000, $27,000 and $13,000, showed a “void” label when scanned by the bank. He has since deposited the checks at another bank.

Man Sues Bank for Not Accepting His Discrimination Settlement Checks
Sauntore Thomas won a racial discrimination settlement against his ex-employer, Enterprise Leasing Company of Detroit, and is suing his former bank for discrimination after he claims it would not let him deposit his settlement checks. So reports The New York Times.
