Female Law Profs to Collect in Gender Pay Gap Settlement

The University of Denver will pay $2.66 million to settle a lawsuit brought by seven female professors who claim they were unfairly compensated because they are women. So reports The Denver Post.

The unequal pay suit was initiated by Professor Lucy Marsh in 2013, whose salary was $40,000 shy of the median, she said. All seven of the professors taught at the Sturm College of Law and will receive pay increases as a result of the agreement. Further, a consultant will monitor pay for Sturm professors and a labor economist will perform pay studies.
