Lawyers said the decision could jeopardize the “entire pact.” Simpson attended a three-day Trump University seminar in April 2010 and alleged the follow-up Gold Elite course lacked promised resources and had an absentee mentor.
Simpson’s lawyer said she was “fleeced” out of $20,000 as a result of taking the sham course. She was disappointed Trump did not have to admit liability or fault, her lawyer said, and she will not be satisfied with any settlement that does not include an admission of liability.
A lawyer who helped negotiate the class action settlement said Simpson had a chance to opt out, but missed a deadline.
