Defense Lawyer’s Pants Catch Fire During Trial of Arsonist

Attorney Stephen Gutierrez’ pants caught fire shortly before he was planning to deliver his closing remarks defending a client accused of arson. So reports Time.

Gutierrez argued his client did not set fire to a car, but it spontaneously combusted; however jurors found the client guilty. Witnesses said Gutierrez blamed an e-cigarette for his “singed pocket."
