House Candidate Represents Client Despite Law License Suspension

Robert Anthony Evans, an attorney who ran for Congress in Manhattan, continued to represent a client in court even after his law license was suspended. So reports The New York Daily News.

Evans is under investigation regarding “missing money” and was on the receiving end of a license suspension from the First Department Appellate Division. He was said to have failed to cooperate in a disciplinary probe regarding money missing from a client’s escrow account.

Evans said ADHD and family issues contributed to his inability to cooperate. Evans denied inappropriately representing his client. The Manhattan District Attorney’s office is reviewing the matter.
