With approximately 255 lawyers, Boies Schiller & Flexner isn’t among the biggest firms around, but it is definitely among the highest paying. The firm’s bonus structure pays associates a portion of the contingency fees awarded in the cases they were assigned.
While some of the associates at Boies Schiller earned bonuses as low as $20,000, that average bonus for the associates who began working at the firm in 2011, for example, was $120,000. That’s compared to the bonuses paid to the 2011 class at the ultra-prestigious Cravath, Swaine & Moore, which averaged $65,000 this year.
