Among other things, the former attorney, Douglas Kent Hall, purchased shampoo for his client that is often used to avoid a positive result in a hair follicle drug test. Hall anticipated that his client, the father in a child custody matter, would be subject to a hair follicle drug screen after the child’s mother presented to the court an emergency petition for custody based on his client’s alleged drug use.
The Supreme Court of Louisiana’s decision to disbar Hall also included evidence consistent with the Office of Disciplinary Obligations’ allegations that Hall harmed several of his clients by failing to properly communicate with them and failing to return unearned fees.
