Broad Role of Race at Forefront of UT Affirmative Action Case

The short-handed Supreme Court ruled the race-based affirmative action admissions program at the University of Texas at Austin is Constitutional. The justices voted 4-3 in favor of the program, with opposing sides broadly lamenting the appropriateness of considering a person’s race.
