Pharmacy Owners Charged with Illegally Selling Record Amount of Oxycodone

An undercover agent busted a husband and wife team who, from their small store, sold 430,000 oxycodone pills without valid prescriptions in 2013 alone, prosecutors say. So reports the New York Post.

Marcin Jakacki, 35, and his 49-year-old wife Lilian, who owned the now-closed Chopin Chemist in Brooklyn, N.Y., are charged with being at the heart of one the largest opioid painkiller diversion schemes ever uncovered in New York. They face a maximum of 60 and 85 years behinds bars, respectively.
