Transgenger Inmate Who Filed Suit Gets Early Parole

A transgender inmate who filed a lawsuit against the Georgia Department of Corrections for, among other things, being denied hormone therapy, has been paroled early. So reports The New York Daily News.

Ashley Diamond, 38, was paroled after serving just slightly more than three years of her 11-year sentence for burglary in a male prison where she alleges she was sexually assaulted multiple times. A spokesman for the state’s parole board said Diamond’s early release had to do with her rehabilitation, not her lawsuit.
