Mom of Student Who Took Lethal Dose of Cyanide Files Suit

The mother of a University of Pennsylvania nursing student who killed herself by ingesting cyanide that she allegedly bought on Amazon.com is suing the school and the online retailer. So reports the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The student, 20-year-old Arya Singh, was found unconscious from the lethal dose. Hours earlier a university employee told Singh that she had to vacate her campus housing immediately because she couldn’t register for classes until she underwent a hearing for academic misconduct.

Singh’s mother alleges the young woman’s life began to unravel after she was sexually assaulted by a fellow student, who remained on campus despite Singh’s report of the incident.
