AZ Bill: Biz Owners Can Deny Gays Service Based on Religious Beliefs

Gay rights activists are up in arms over a bill passed by the Arizona legislature last week that would strengthen a business owner’s right to refuse service to gays if the owner believes doing so violates his or her religion. So reports the Los Angeles Times.

The bill’s proponents claim it safeguards religious freedoms. Its opponents call it unconstitutional.
