Amid Sex Charges, R. Kelly Asks Judge for OK to Head to Dubai

Embattled R&B singer R. Kelly asked a judge for permission to perform in the Arabian Peninsula sheikhdom and meet the “royal family.” So reports the Associated Press.

The musician was recently charged with 10 counts of aggravated sex abuse. Reportedly, Dubai has been a popular destination for world leaders and celebrities looking for safe haven. Steven A. Greenberg, R. Kelly’s attorney, said he needs to raise money for child related expenses, and that is the impetus for overseas performances.
