Weinstein Asks Judge to Toss Ashley Judd's Defamation Suit

Embattled movie producer Harvey Weinstein's lawyer argued actress Ashley Judd's defamation case against him should be tossed out, calling the alleged defamation "opinion." So reports The New York Daily News.

The lawyer also said the statute of limitations has expired and one California law cited does not apply to "producers and actors." Judd claims she was passed over for a role in Peter Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings because she was blacklisted.

Judd said the producer once invited her to a Beverly Hills hotel and asked her to watch him shower and give him a massage. She declined and claims she was subsequently retaliated against for it.
