Man Beaten By Police in N.J. to Collect $1.6M Settlement

Marcus Jeter, who sued Bloomfield for false arrest, accepted a $1.6 million settlement. So reports the New Jersey Law Journal.

Jeter alleges at least 10 cops from the Bloomfield PD beat him during a traffic stop on a New Jersey highway. He was charged with a number of crimes as a result of the stop, but they were dropped after dashcam footage of the incident was released. Three of the officers involved in the incident face criminal charges.
