NY Court Stops Lifetime from Airing ‘Romeo Killer’ Movie

A New York Supreme Court judge last week issued an injunction prohibiting Lifetime Television from airing and promoting the made-for-TV movie Romeo Killer: The Christopher Porco Story.

So reports the Hollywood Reporter.

 

The injunction is in response to a suit filed by Porco, currently in jail, alleging the film violates New York’s version of publicity rights law. The law allows a person to seek redress if his or her "name, portrait, picture or voice is used … for advertising purposes or for the purposes of trade without the written consent first obtained."
