Alex van der Zwann to be Jailed for Lying in Russia Probe

Dutch lawyer Alex van der Zwann was sentenced to 30 days in prison, in addition to a $20,000 fine, for lying to special counsel Robert Mueller. So reports National Public Radio (NPR).

He is the first person to be sentenced related to Mueller’s investigation into alleged Russian interference in the last presidential election. Authorities claim van der Zwann lied during a November 2017 interview with respect to his work with Paul Manafort and Richard Gates, both involved with then-candidate Donald Trump’s campaign.
