NY Appeals Court: 9/11 Asbestos Case Can Move Forward

A group of workers tasked with cleaning up debris caused by the 9/11 terrorist attacks have the green light to pursue a lawsuit after they became ill. So reports The New York Daily News.

The Battery Park City Authority, which owns the property the workers allegedly got sick cleaning, argued the law extending the time sick workers are permitted to file a legal action is unconstitutional.

The New York Court of Appeals, however, ruled the park authority was not entitled to challenge the law. The debris the workers were tasked with cleaning was allegedly laden with asbestos causing the workers to develop respiratory illnesses.
