After 15 years in Prison, Exonerated Man Gets $9M in Settlement

After spending 15 years behind bars, Jason Strong was exonerated of murder charges and will receive a $9 million settlement. So reports the Associated Press.

Strong was convicted in 2000 for killing Carpentersville resident Mary Kate Sunderlin, but new evidence surfaced in 2015 leading prosecutors to drop the charges against him. Strong alleged investigators “conspired” to wrongfully convict him and claimed he was coerced into a “false confession.”
