SCOTUS Dismisses Travel Ban Stemming from Maryland Court

Without ruling on its merits, the US Supreme Court dismissed a challenge to President Trump’s March travel ban regarding six mid-East countries. So reports CNN.

The court dismissed a case from a Maryland district court blocking a provision in the ban and said it is no longer a “live case or controversy.” The travel ban ordered in March expired, however, a separate refugee ban has not. The court did not rule on an injunction from Hawaii related to both the travel and refugee ban. New travel restrictions are set to go into effect on October 18, as of press time.
