Rich was a Democratic committee staffer who was allegedly murdered. Rod Wheeler, a private investigator, sued the network for defamation, arguing Fox News used fabricated quotes that they attributed to him regarding Rich’s death. Wheeler claims the network pushed a false narrative, claiming Rich’s murder was the result of him leaking internal Democratic National Committee documents. The story was withdrawn shortly after it was published.
