Washington, D.C. Attorney General Karl Racine alleges that foreign governments are spending money at Trump properties in order to curry favor with the President. Maryland and Washington also allege businesses that must compete against the President’s properties are at a disadvantage.
The suit also states tax breaks and permits count as emoluments. Trump’s camp claims the lawsuit, brought by Democrats, is politically driven.
