Bharara was let go earlier this month after he refused a call by the Department of Justice to leave voluntarily. Bharara said he didn't immediately resign because it was unclear if the call for mass resignations included him. He said Trump previously indicated he was going to be retained under the new administration.
Bharara said he will continue to address issues in his new post that he finds critically important such as social justice, honest government, civil rights, national security, and corporate accountability.
