Faris is in prison for his role in plotting to destroy the Brooklyn Bridge.
The motion, which was filed in U.S. District Court in southern Illinois, began "a revocation process that is likely to take years," and alleges Faris lied on immigration paperwork. It also states his terrorist affiliations demonstrate "a lack of commitment to the U.S. Constitution,"as part of the impetus to strip his citizenship. He is scheduled for release from prison on Dec. 23, 2020.
