Volkswagon Agrees to $14.7B Emissions Scandal Settlement

Volkswagen has agreed to a $14.7 billion settlement after it rigged 475,000 diesel vehicles to mask their emissions and skirt standards. Close to $10 billion will be used to get the vehicles off the road and compensate car owners. So reports NBC News.

Certain models of the VW Beetle, VW Golf, VW Jetta, VW Passat and Audi A3 are included in the settlement, the story reads. The deal is not yet done and a public comment period will precede finalization from the EPA, FTC, Justice Department and California Air Resources Board.
